I feel we already have access to most of this data in other resources such as Global Insight, World Development Indicators, Statistics Canada publications. One could argue that it is good to have it in one source but LexisNexis statistical only has subsets of what is in the other databases so you would still need to subscribe to them. Some we get for free such as the Statistics Canada because of DLI etc. Also I am not impressed with the search interface. It is my opinion that we do not require this resource.

I looked up a few of the Canadian playwrights taught at Glendon and they are not included: Caryl Churchill, Anne-Marie MacDonald, Wole Soyinka, Th. Highway. May be useful for other English language plays though. I would not find this to be an indispensable resource.

only if we have too much money. We have so many dictionaries available online already, this is a luxury from my point of view.

This seems excellent but has anyone studied the overlap to PsycInfo. I did the same search on each one and PsycInfo came up with four times the amount of data although I liked the subject control in Ebsco better (that's cause of the basic database though.)

If this has more data than great, but if it covers the same territory than why get it?

Has anyone done a comparison?

I find this useful primarily because of Universalis (French) encyclopedia. I'm not sure what the cost might be but if it's reasonable, I would like to see us buy it.

That is great. This should be listed under the International Studies research guide. I will add a link to the History Research Guide.

Looks interesting. I have sent it to some Glendon faculty for comment. Would be a good counter balance to Index Islamicus if one is needed.

This journal seems most useful and has numerous subject areas interest to York as far as I can tell.

It's also indexed in LLBA, Psyinfo and Medline reflecting this diversity in subjects. I think we should get it.
